Tomorrow at noon Laine and I will be leaving on our honeymoon in Quebec. We were supposed to leave today however we were too late trying to book a rental car today and we ended up having to wait another day. This however let us plan our trip in a little more detail tonight as well as book a few activities. Here is a list of places we are staying in the order we are staying at them:
21st – Sugarloaf Provincial Park
22nd – Parks Canada – Forillon National Park of Canada
23rd – Québec National Parks, Gaspesie
24th – Québec National Parks, Bic
25th – Hôtel 71
26th – Québec National Parks, Jacques-Cartier

Winning the Oil Endgame-Homepage
Our governments and heads of manufacturing need to visit this page and read the free book contained therein. While I have yet to read the entire thing, I did watch a lecture the author gave on the subject to MIT and it makes shockingly simple sense. Why these ideas aren’t being implememnted with more speed is hard to fathom. You can see the lecture here: Winning the Oil Endgame – Amory Lovins
If you tried to get a hold of Laine or I over the weekend the reason we weren’t answering our phone was because we were in Emyvale starting work on our small one room strawbale practise building. We managed to get the post holes dug thanks to Keith and Aaron, however the two man auger we rented was no match for the brick clay located 20-22″ down from the surface. Five foot posts quickly became three foot posts and plans to insulate and berm the posts in place were made. After that the posts and floor joists levelled and erected as well, with a big thanks to Keith as his suggestions and experience made the job easier and the work sturdier.
Today we assembled the corner posts in the shop due to rain, and hopefully during the week we can finish our roof plates and start assembling and bracing the pieces. The strawbales will be used in our wedding as seating so for the wedding we’ll tarp in the hut as a tent like structure, provided there is no rain on call! Photos soon!
