What is this website?

What is this website and what am I getting out of it? I have been feeling more and more that I have too often let myself to become trapped by it. I read ‘blogs’ by folk like Wil Wheaton, Max Barry, Michael Hyatt and a bunch of my friends fairly regularly and other a host of others on whims and fleeting interest and I get trapped into the belief that these websites we keep really MEAN anything, that the act of ‘blogging’ (and god how I hate the term and it’s connotations) is somehow useful.

I remember not that long ago that the notion of an online journal while cute and having a quaint appeal was largely unheard of and widely ignored. Personal websites were by and large vehicles to share photos, how-to’s, collections of information, fan sites and discussion sites. Back then a reasonably frequent update rate for a personal page was weekly and daily updates would be considered quite frequent if not excessive. Personal websites would hardly ever be considered high traffic sites unless they belonged to a celebrity and that was unlikely since it was mostly geeks that had personal sites to begin with….

I have decided to change my perspective on this website and only update when I have useful information (MTB trail maps, camp gear reviews, t-shirt designs, etc..) photos to share or any other useful links or news.  I have decided to make this less a personal journal and more a resource.
