New toys!

PS2 Slim Toshiba 20 FlatscreenLaine and I bought a new TV and a PS2 Tuesday night! The PS2 was actually Laine’s idea… (I’m so lucky!!) We bought LOTR:ROTK that night and last night when buying a memory card at EBgames for the new system I bought Tony Hawk Underground 2. The TV is a 20″ Toshiba flat screen CRT model and while it is smaller than my old crappy 27″ Daewoo model, it is much nicer and actually fits the scale of our smallish apartment better. Also, after a few hours, I didn’t even really notice a big difference watching it. We may have a PS2 partythis weekend, we’ll let everyone know the details soon!

Max Barry, writer of novels Jennifer Government and Syrup, discusses Bill H.R. 683: the Trademark Dilution Revision Act on his website. Wow, this has some huge implications, it’s wonder that it hasn’t made a bigger splash in the media and internet than it has. If this piece gets made law (Congress passed it, now it needs to get through the Senate and have the President sign it) then it will be effectivelt illegal to use any trademark without permission in any form, i.e. I couldn’t say “I drank a Coke today” on my blog as it would be a trademark violation and Coke could sue me.
