Apple – iMac G5

Apple – iMac G5

In a not too surprising next step in their desktop evolution, the new Apple G5 is just a panel with all the guts behind a flat screen display.

edit:

My follow up to Pat’s comment: (I agree with Pat that it is a very nice computer)

It was just a matter of time before they took the keyboard off a laptop and replaced it with the display and called it a desktop. In that sense Apple doesn’t truly make desktop computers anymore, and haven’t done so in a few years, as their machines are small, hard to upgrade, next to impossible to customize (Hardware wise) and impossible to expand; just like a laptop. Mind you what they do they do well, and the typical (modern) Apple user does not really tend to be the type to open up their case and add a second HD or replace their video card. No, the typical new Apple owner just buys the computer and uses it, hopefully not ever calling tech support or worrying about upgrades. And (in my opinon) as much as Apple computer’s are very asthetically pleasing, they are also desined to blend in with your rooms/offices background when not in use, reinforcing this notion.

Vehicle ownership screws me over again….

Well, I went to my insurance company today and switched the insurance on my Shadow over onto the D50 today and went to the DMV to transfer the plates to the truck and pay the taxes on it when I find out the inspection sticker on it is stolen. So, I have to now get the truck inspected, which means at least new rear shocks and a windshield. This sucks. Nothing ever goes simply for me when I try to do anyhting with vehicles. I am so frustrated right now……..

The truck is at Grafton Street Shell right now waiting to get inspected tomorrow, so I should get the bad news around 4 or 5 on how much it’ll cost to get the beast on the road…..

Truck!

I am a truck guy now officially. I bought a 1989 Dodge D-50 Power Ram 4×4 today. It’s a five speed truck with an extended cab, with a carbeurated 2.6L inline four. Tomorrow when I get it on the road and cleaned up a bit I will take some photos and upload them.
